Is there any advantage for the one piece rear door design on new Defenders?

it can all rot at once?

supposed to be stronger, I think...

It's a far better all-steel design, with the ability to carry a spare wheel buit-in rather than added on - the carrier is similar to the Discovery one. It's designed and built to "modern" standards, primed and painted very nicely. Looking at customers vehicles it would seem that longevity is going to be much better that previous designs.

what sort of money are they looking at for 'em?

and are the hinges still the same, or have they been upgraded too?

Around 250 quid (which sounds a lot - but you get a lot of door!). Hinges are the same, but I'm not sure what the plan is as far as the lock/handle goes.
