RR 1998 4.6HSE - I have a very very intermittent fault that now and then blows fuse 17 when the brake pedal is pressed. After a lot of probing and
10A fuses I've narrowed the problem down to the BECM or one of the 3 brake light lines leaving the BECM. The brake light switch also goes into the ABS ECU and the EAS ECU but I now know they're not the problem. Does anyone know where I can find a schematic of the innards of the BECM? Is there anything in there that could blast the 10A fuse? The faults cleared again for the moment so I'm off to try and isolate the brake light outputs from the BECM ready for next time, or maybe I'll just replace the fuse with a rusty nail and see where the smoke comes from!!!
