Ping fanie re Indicator blown fuse update

Sorry to start new thread but original is a way up the list by now. Fanie - I would be most interested to have an update on the update please. Since you posted I have had a very similar experience with a 94 300Tdi Defender. It started by occasionally blowing indicator fuses but ended up with the indicators not working at all though the fuse was not blown. The hazard warning system works perfectly. You would think that this eliminates the hazard warning switch and points to the flasher relay or the stalk indicator switch.I have found this not to be so. You are right in saying the indicator circuitry goes via the hazard circuitry. In fact the hazard warning system uses the same flasher relay as the indicators. You can hear and feel it clicking when the hazard lights are flashing. I don't know where the flasher relay is located on a Disco but on a Defender it's on the LHS of the fusebox/relay complex on the bulkhead in the passenger compartment behind the gearstick. Anyway I can tell you that the hazards working ok doesn't mean that the hazard warning switch is not the source of the indicator problem. In my case at least replacing the hazard warning switch solved the indicator problem. My thanks to York Landrover Services (YLS).They were most helpful in sorting it out for me. I am therefore curious to know how things worked out in Southern Africa.
