Hi, Wayne. This is what I have on my 3.9 V8110 so yes, it will work. You need to do a couple of mods though, modify by compressing or replace the fuel pressure regulator, to up the fuel supply pressure from the 3.5's 36psi to 44psi. Make sure all the rubber fuel pipes are very good and all the clips are ok though!!! Second, remove the black plastic cover from the airflow meter to allow access to the flap pretensioning spring and increase the tension on the spring by 8 or 9 notches as a starting point (self-evident once cover removed) then stick a gas analyser up the exhaust, start up, run till fully hot and re-adjust the spring tension so that the fuelling at idle is correct with the mixture screw on the airflow meter approx. 3/4 turn out from fully in. A bit of fiddling with spring / mixture screw is inevitable to get it right. The fuelling will never be absolutely

100% spot-on across the full rev/load range, but it'll be close enough as makes no real odds. You can also remove the cold start extra air valve (air bypass valve), drill out the rivets, dismantle and enlarge the air hole in the cold (open) position by approx. 25-30 sq.mm to allow the cold idle speed to reach a normal level with the larger capacity, reassemble using small nuts and bolts. Alternatively, fit the valve from a series 3 jag XJ6 4.2, straight swap! Badger. Badger.
