Re: P38a Diesel

Popped into my friendly local dealer this morning to test drive a DSE. As

This partly answers my question:

But I'd rather hear it from somebody who has tried it.

Do you remember how much it was?

David,

I drive a manual 2.5 DSE (99'T) and while it is no racing car it is more than adequate. Though it being manual I can select the most appropriate gear for this.

Certainly on the motorway it moves along with the rest of the traffic in all lanes. I do a lot of motorway driving and have no problems with it making progress ;)

I will most likely chip mine when it is out of warranty.

The most annoying thing is that my other car is a TD5 90 and this is very forgiving due to low down torque. The RR on the other hand is crap below

2000revs and I have stalled it a couple of times.

It also does not like town stop/start/que traffic and the MPG dips to

22-23mpg. On a run I can get 28mpg if I don't go breaking the speed limit or flooring it.
