Bruce said if he ever feels he needs to get a winch it would be a demountable one. He saw one in a Land Rover Mag that he liked from a company called Bushey Hall.

Hehehehehehe.......... your about two months down the line from realising you need proper winch mounted on your car. (Which is what I'm getting for Christmas!) Hint after the Highlift the next thing you want to get is a Kinetic recovery rope ( if your going to keep asking your freinds to pull you out that is!) Also get a gash plate of metal for using as a base for the highlight, as they do dig in when trying to cast out of ruts. I used to use my shovel for this until the day that I need to Lift, cast, and dig at the same time!!!! Finally angle Iron makes excellent cheap stakes/ground anchors for when there are no trees nearby for winching from!

Have Fun,

LOL and wheres the fun in that? Behavior like that would get you home in time for tea and medals as opposed to being out all night traversing someplace you wish you hadn't gone. Guy has already proved he has the real committment to get stuck out all night, although he did wimp out on the sleeping in the mud next to his car bit ;-)

Theres nothing dangerous about doing something dangerous if you know its dangerous! and its called casting.

Definitely get something that fits, if you havy a swb get a shorty one, if you want to stand it up in the back get a shorty one. Importantly get a jack adaptor for it. Its something that fits over the toe on the jack with a tube that slots into the jacking points. Keeps the jack far enough away from the back to not casue you any scratches. Not such a problem at the front!

Regards,

Mark
