Salisbury diff pinion waggle. sounds dangerous/expensive

Hi folks,In short, I can waggle the back end of my rear propshaft (diff input flange) side to side about a quarter of an inch.I also have been (for a year or so) getting drive vibration when accelerating or going uphill.1. I know the Haynes manual says "stay away from diffs and get a grown-up to look at it", but I have installed an automatic difflock myself which needed the crownwheel and satellite gears etc removed and fiddled with. That was 5 or 6 years ago and I've had no problems.However I have never investigated the front half of the diff and have no idea what to expect. By the looks of it we are talking hydraulic presses and the like... any comments?Is this a job I could tackle myself. ( I built the wagon from a galv-chassis upwards 11years and 90,000miles ago )I have no workshop facilities but a serious selection of handtools.The wagon is a 109 SIII Stat Wag. The diff is an ex-MOD salisbury (white cover with stencil writing on it)Cheers

Probably. And the -70C? The world record lowest temp is only -89C (Vostok, Antarctica) July 21, 1983. Carbon Dioxide freezes out at

-79C. Moscow is currently experiencing an unusually cold snap with temp in the mid -30'sC.

Now I know they said we were going to have a cold winter but...

Probably neat stuff has a freezing point of -70.

Methanol freezes at -98C, ethanol at -114C.

I'm pretty sure they are various strength alcohol solutions. Glycols is what makes up radiator antifreeze not washer bottle stuff.

Don't think so, glycols (dual -OH) are more aggressive to the body paint. They can be safely used within the sealed coolant circuit, though.
