I was wondering if there is a seal in the prop side of a series diff that can be changed to stop little puddles of oil forming when i have been for a burn ( well smoke then )

Yes, and while you're in there, you'll probably want to change the diff nose bearing, too, as that failing is what wrecked the seal on mine. And maybe the U.J. mounting flange, 'cos the surface of that wears and corrodes, too, which damages the seal.
yes there is and its not to bad to change,
seal and method of chaning differs between series 2/2a and 3 axles too so check what you have first.
