SIII: Blue light on dash flashing ... qué?

Feb 29, 2004 6 Replies

Hello,

There's a faded blue light on the right of my dash, between the right-hand dial and the bank of switches - below the right-turn indicator light.

And it's just started flashing. Fairly regular though a bit flickery, and it starts and stops randomly, as far as I can tell. I know it's not high-beam, oil-pressure, charge. No idea what it's trying to tell me... can anyone suggest anything before I take the dash off and start tracing wires?

Many thanks,

h

SAME HERE!!! on my S2A! Its right in the middle of the panel and comes on and off when it feels like it! Nothing I do makes any affect to it!

If your description is as I understand it, it is a low fuel light, described as "mauve" in the handbook, and fitted to diesels. JD

My one used to flash from about half a tank full down to nothing, more of a nagging light to get diesel. GGJ

Ahhh - I chucked a bit more diesel in yesterday and the light hasn't been on since, although it seemed to flash so randomly that I wasn't sure whether I'd solved it.

Next job, unstick my fuel guage from the permanent 'Full' position :)

Many thanks for your help,

h

I was just as puzzled as you when my light flashed for the first time. I will have to calibrate the d..n thing

yep, its the fuel light, a quirky and often puzzling friend, it means 'buy fuel sometime' and 'carry jerry can' in the same breath
