If you like organisation and stands within walking distance.....then you'd have hated it ;-)

Didn't seam as good this year, far to spread out and £2.80 for a pint of poxy John Smiths -(why cant this type of event have a real ale bar ?) but they were giving a new program on Discovery H&L a good plug -building the ultimate off roader -Starting towards the end of July. It has been about 10 years since I paid to get in a LR Show as a member of the public rather than being there anyway as a trader - and I am glad I did..... Now if anyone dares to moan at £8 for my show at Donington Park I shall not too ploitely point out that they could have paid £10 to get into Eastnor for barely half the show!!!

The exhibitors were few and far between ( we have 80 odd at our Show ). Many of the stands had, as always, put on agood display but the acres of grass between them was not that interesting! The central arena was slow and the ferret racing ( a sport close to my heart as a proud ferret owner ) was stahed in the middle of the arena so far from the public that you could not see a thing.

I accept that my show is small in area covered - limited by being inside an exhibition centre but is all that grass and walking between stands really that interesting.

I am sorry to say ( genuinely sorry as LRs are my life as well as job ) that I felt this show was simply 'not very good.... either in content or value.

This was the first l/r show I've been to; got there about 1.00pm on the Sunday. Was a bit ticked off to have £20 taken off me for the two us to get in. I felt this was even more of a rip off once we were in...

A few traders that I specifically wanted to see didn't seem to be there (although maybe I just didn't find them... there was a fair amount of hiking about involved). Off road course was scenic but untesting.

I'll probably go again next year but get there early in the morning; coming from Cardiff it is the only show within easy striking distance. Don't think I'd bother camping.

Good crowd. Why do so many people were those hats?

Well yes and no really. I'd hate to see this show become the officious jackbooted type that so many others have become. Having said that, a decent framework would be nice - as would having Series One, Two and Three clubs, Camel Trophy, 101 Club etc actually on the "LIST" of clubs attending - yes, we were sent tickets and passes but arrived to a bemused look on Ty's face... "You're not on my list, sorry". So we pitched up where we did last year - which turned out to be the back of beyond with the new layout.

The weather, broken showers interspersed with torrential downpours was 'challenging' but notwithstanding, still a pretty good show as far as it goes.

I still like this one if only for the location.

The RAC lift home was a bit scary, though ;-)

RAC lift home? Uh-oh....Grumble sounded fine when I heard him. Did you see Piglet being driven by a very happy little Birthday girl??

I agree about the location of the entire show, but the location of the club stands was "interesting" :( Especially as mud-club was in the furthest corner of the furthest field!!! Oh well....

Transfer box eventually gave up - I'd been expecting it from Driffield but managed to push it to Wales and back, then to Eastnor and nearly back ;-)

Indeed - Had to have a doubletake - she seemed to be enjoying it. Off road course for her next year, then? :-)

Hehehe I know - Piglet has been to LRW shows since I picked him up in 1999 (in various guises!) and b4 that in Henry the Stage One and Harriet the 109" .. don't ever remember buying tickets ....

We never made it either as we went to my Aunt's wedding. Wishing I had gone to Eastnor though, as SWMBO managed to wrestle the microphone off the DJ during the night and make a very silly and expensive announcement to all and sundry.

I'm now pulling my hair out and panicking like mad as to how I'm going to raise the neccessary funds. I had thought about selling her SJ410 as punishment!!!
