That is a lovely example. If only I could afford to give it a new home.

you don't seriously think anyone here is going to buy it do you?
BTW, does it seem that the problems are now a thing of the past?
Leading question, given your first comment!
Oh I dunno, will be a good purchase for someone, no doubt the previous keeper dumper it through frustration. Dave being the true fan he is has placed another of Solihulls finest back on the worthy list and will no doubt go on to improve another one :-) . This has been a battle against all odds only recently equalled by Tim Hobb's battle to beat Burt into submission and conformity. It's investments like Daves that are only to be encouraged and embraced for those of us a little further down the landrover chain, this is afterall our inheritance.
Dave on behalf of future aspiring toffs I thankyou ;-).
If I had the Money I know Mrs D would snap yer hand off.

*I* can't afford it, by a factor of about 10.
So, by that logic, you _can_ afford a 101 :-)
300Tdi Disco.
When I get my act together - sorry - it's been a bit hectic!
Somebody's already interested... at least you know the history :)
Yes. I've been driving it the last few days and it's not skipped a beat.
Seriously, it's actually a very good buy, because muggins here has solved all the problems already (and paid for them). If you buy another RaRo of that age / mileage, you'd probably have all the same problems, but you'd have to solve them yourself, at a high cost.
The only reason I bought it in the first place was because of the new engine - I wouldn't have touched one with an original 4.6!
I'm at risk of convincing myself I should keep it, but I'm trying to be sensible rather than romantic about it.

Yes, not for the first time either...
Take 1 200Tdi Disco Clean it, shampoo it, wax it, polish it Stick a new gearbox in Put 4 new wheel bearings in Replace all the central locking actuators Iron out some niggling electrical faults Put a lovely new CD player in Put on rocksliders, steering guard, diff guards Add snorkel Put a 2" OME lift on it Fix the leaky sunroof Lovely new set of BFGs...
...and then sell it.
Buy a Range Rover and repeat.
My pleasure :)

yebbut, if I could, I'd buy bits for my 90/130 6-wheeler project, viz. a brace of 90s.

keep an eye open for whether it's EDC or not... not that I know any reason specifically to avoid EDC, just that it's more to go wrong. mechanical injection pumps may not be state-of-the-art but they're well proven and generally reliable.
not sure if any UK-spec discos were EDC, but some may be.
