Hallo out there. I have just bourght a 110 stationwagon and want to by the best tyre for drivin in sand, can anybody help me ?

Nothing comes close to a Michelin XS Sahara for sand driving.

Michelin XS 7.50x16, designed for sand :-)

Have a '95 TDI Discovery (not the problem), but I need to get a full set of tyres (the problem).

Can anybody recommend tyres? & supplier? (in Hertfordshire, if possible)

what are you using it for?

for mostly on-road use, the goodyear GT4 or the Michelin Synchrone are a good bet, neither especially cheap but good tyres.

goodrich AT are nice for 50-50 tyres but pricey, as are the cheaper Nankang wide conquerors or the Pirelli Scorpion AT - the latter sticks like toffee to a blanket on the road but doesn't last quite so long.

for mud-playing, you want MTs, in which case, there are a wide choice.
