UK new LR dealers - best discounts?

Hi folks,

I'm stretching the budget to see if I can't buy a new 110 doublecab - has any one had success with negotiating good prices with UK dealers? My local dealership can do £1,250 off the list price, but I was rather hoping for more. They will do £3,000 off a disco, but that doesn't really help. An alternative would be to import, which is fine for me as I intend to keep the thing for many years, so resale value isn't really an issue. What are the views of other subscribers to this group? Should I persevere with UK dealers first?

Thanks

James

Loby Hi,

could you please contact me directly at pantgATotenet.gr (replacing AT with the known round symbol)

I may be interested for secondhand doublecabs (110 and 130) and for CSW 90 and 110.

Maybe also for brand new vehicles.

Import tax on secondhand and new cars has just been reduced in Greece and it appears likely that there will be a strong interest both for new and secondhand Defenders.

Please contact me with availability and pricing details if of course this is of interest to you.

Take care Pantelis

In article , James writes

Unless they have some pre registered or Landrover are doing a deal you are unlikely to get much of a deal out of UK dealers.

They only have an 8% margin and will often give all of that away to get a sale.

I considered buying through an importer, Defender UK, who's based in Milton Keynes some months ago. He seemed very good and could offer varying savings, depending on the model you're looking for.

Unfortunately at the time, the Double-Cab wasn't available at a good discount, but that situation might well have changed.

I bought a Black-110 in the end and like the Double-Cab particularly.

Lobby,

That would be very kind of you. Ideally looking at a county spec 110 doublecab with metallic paint, cd player and tow hitch.

Many thanks.

Try dealers in the Irish Republic - should work out cheaper but stock may be limited.

See

- and I'd recommend Behan's in Arklow. :-)
