Shows how careful you have to be these days.

Anyway, back to the V8s. Guess there is little call for massive 1940s american designed V8s these days. Its probably taking up space in the factory that could be used for building Fiestas or Maverics? Does not matter if it works or not, some mug would still bid for it on ebay. hehe. perhaps we should suggest it... though it seems to be on some auction-type site already, but it's actually for sale by private treaty.

The basic engine is maybe a bit old, but I recall seeing an advert in one of the magazines for the current version of the 200Tdi/300Tdi series, implying that the production line had been sold to some company in South America, and they'd increased the capacity a bit, and you could buy a 2.5 litre version to re-engine a Landy.

They do a 2.7l version variously known as Powerstroke, Power Torque etc. The company, I believe, is known as something like International, which makes them bloody hard to find on Google.

The TDi derivatives aren't suitable for use on new cars in the EU as they don't comply with emissions regs. But you can retrofit them on older vehicles.
