Quite right too - smashing, quite smashing and good pics to - well done Mr "Civil Servant", my Giro was late on Thursday, by the way :-)

Please do invite Sis to some of the various Landie gatherings, she's amongst the rarest of beasts; a pretty girl who likes Landies.

Even having read your exploits with J-Lo, and looked at the various pics and vids - I hadn't really realised just what a truly superb job you'd all done. Well done indeed!

Did they show any interest in Percy?

I'm sure she will be a regular attender ... Gaydon may be on the Cards amoungst others so far..

I played only a small part... which is why it's finished :-)

Erm...yeah... Mark Saville met me at a local Hotel Carpark and mentioned that they would follow to Ma and Pa's... I recall him uttering words to the effect of.."We should keep up, Jons Vectra has a V6 in".... I hadn't gone into detail at this point and Percy had just changed colour that week so any Prior knowledge of Percy would have been unlinked :-).

So when we got to Ma and Pa's the comments "Whats in that? It goes well?......... A What? ...... Lets have a look........B***dy hell...Hows the gearbox cope with that? ..... Auto?"..... out came the camera for the research piccys :-)

I might add I wasn't pushing Percy, I'd got little'un onboard..we were just cruising.

Interestingly Mark kindly pointed out that Percy was "crabbing".... basically driving sideways in a straigh line...No one had previously stuck behind Percy long enough to notice, and 2 MOT's kind of support how difficult to notice this was. A quick check revealed one side was 87 1/4 wheel base and the other 88 inch. This error occured when I relocated the spring pads on the rear stage 1 axle and has now been rectified, but I did get the prop angle right. And in my defence when I welded the pads on it was a best guess as I had no datums to work with. .. I never realised how much fun driving in a straight line could be... Anyway to answer the question yes Mark has made me promise to contact him when I'm happy with the finish on Percy .. namely wiring under the bonnet and the interior decor. I'm moving onto the interior shortly now that the safari roof is on, it just needs a couple of more rivets (I ran out ...250 don't go far in a Landrover workshop) and then I can paint the new safari roof skin to match the rest of the roof. Then it's down to the local fabric shop so Mrs D can exercise that sewing machine I kindly and rather timely got for her last Birthday :-)

So the May Issue may just have a Percy in.... May 2006 that is :-)
