Worse than women (SLS issue)

Yes, Land Rovers sulk.

The Disco has hardly moved for a couple of weeks since I went back to two wheels for my daily commute. Today, I need to collect the dog from kennels after a weekend away. The XT is clearly not an appropriate choice, so I set off in the Disco. 100 yards down the road, things feel very funny and the Disco feels as if it's shipped some water and is listing to starboard, so I return home. The car is leaning over at a crazy angle, with the rear LHS corner of the vehicle about a mile in the air.

Too wet and dark to grovel about looking for why - that'll have to wait. It looks like the SLS has pumped up to maximum on one side only. Bloody hydro-electrickery! I don't mind having to fix it - it's all the stroking, flowers and sweet nothings I will have to give it before it will talk to me again that I can't stand. It's not as if I shagged the motorbike, after all. We're just friends.

They do indeed. My Series is refusing to start and I'm sure it is related to the arrival of a shiny new Hyundai Tucson in the driveway.

Poor series, I feel sorry for it and understand it's logic! ;-) Badger.

So do I. But a Tucson was the only vaguely nice vehicle that fitted both my budget and SWMBOs list of essential features for her new car. And I must admit it's bloody good on a trip if you don't think about the fuel consumption which is quite frankly disappointing (I expect a damn sight better than 23mpg from a 2.7l V6).

LPG.......... walks away whistling....... badger.

You're preaching to the converted. However there is a slight LPG problem in this country - it's bloody hard to get anywhere outside a major town, and as we only have the population of London spread through a country the size of the British Isles the major towns tend to be a bit far apart for LPG to be really viable.

Can you not rent a big tank to be kept at home and get them to fill it when required? Any long trips away from home and you will have to use the expensive stuff once you run out of gas.

I can see it being a little hard to get a dangerous goods licence to do so here in the middle of the city, and delivering down my driveway would be an interesting exercise.

It's the trips that are the issue - I can buy LPG at 3 garages within a few miles of home, it's the 200 miles+ between towns with LPG when I'm away that's the issue. Anyway, petrol here hasn't been quite as harshly taxed as it is in the UK so the financial gains from running on LPG are quite a lot smaller.
