I have a 2001 RX300 without a trailer hitch receiver, and am looking for a good bike rack solution... anyone have any good suggestions?
Also, is it possible to add a hitch receiver after the fact, and at what cost?

Of course you can add a receiver hitch. Can't tell you what the local cost to install will be, but a bolt-on will run you a bit over $100. You can install it yourself. A 1.25" will be plenty, but a 2" gives you a bit more flexibility.
Make sure that whatever you get has a durable finish (powder-coated would be good) or the thing will shortly look like hell.
With the receiver, you get a wide range of bike carrier options from $80 on up. Much better than the clamp-to-car option.
