Airbags - only last 10 years ?

MkII was the big bumper / chrome oval grille one.

Not really a MkII, I suppose, more a MkI facelift.

The message from "Tim S Kemp" contains these words:

Don't they look like old Saabs from behind! (Marinas, not SteveH, though he might too, I couldn't comment)

Propoganda to an extent. If they said that there was no one wanting their cars then no one would want one. If they say their order books are full to bursting point from the most sexy people in the country then hopefully one or two of those types will take a second look at their products. Six months would be quite normal for a small manufacturing company ordering small quantities of material from specialist subconractors but two years plus from the same company for other models doesn't sound right and should sound alarm bells if true. Have they paid their suppliers up to date for instance?

As long as some multi millionaire comes along every so often to refill the bank, yes. I recall some of you not believing me [scoffing] when I mentioned MG Rover was doomed to imminent failure some four or five months before they fell. Not that I'm saying TVR will fail soon or at all in the medium term but they are small players by any standards. There are surprisingly many small players left in the UK and no big homegrown ones :-(

That's the one.

They have a couple of tiny, easily broken "straps" to hold the bottom of the back bumper in place.

All you need to do is gently reverse into something and they can snap off, leaving you with the "flapping around at speed" that you've seen.

Pete.

The message from Pete Smith contains these words:

Oooh, I remember them. Traditional, wasn't it. You could see 'em all up and down the motorway a few years ago.

Saw a recent Clio doing that the other day - offside half of the rear bumper was several feet out of place at speed.
