Blocked Dipstick Tube

Aug 21, 2010 1 Replies

Hi,

I have a problem with a blocked dipstick tube - the rubber stopper at the top of the dipstick has perished and pieces of rubber fallen down the tube.

I can force the dipstick in but due to the blockage cannot get an accurate reading. I have tried to hook the rubber out with a bent coathanger with no success.

Does anyone have any suggestions? The car is a 1999 Peugeot 306 1.6 petrol.

Many thanks for any ideas.

Tom

I don't know much about this specific car, but is the dipstick tube not removable by undoing a nut collar at its base?
