Hi,
I purchased a new car last October and had a bump in February (my fault). I have consequently had 4 repairs to my car from the same repair centre and it is still not right. The repair centre is owned by my insurance company (Royal Sun Alliance) and was highly recommended by them. I was told that they would do as good a job as any dealer and that the work would be guaranteed while I own the car.
So, paint is chipping off. This happened the first time and it took an inspector for them to sort it out, the repairers claimed "wear and tear". RSA have said that I can take it to a dealer for them to quote for the work, but I have heard bad things about the dealer's workmanship so I am reluctant. On top of this, I am pis**d off to have to sort it out again for a fifth time with a new garage which could have the same end result, providing the repair I have had is as good as a main dealer can do.
My finance agreement states "you are responsible for repairs necessary to return the Goods to their pre-accident condition"
So, what I would like to know is where I stand on all this. I have a claim in with RSA for compensation for loss of use depreciation as it is but I can't help but think I would only be satisfied that I would have a car at pre-accident condition by having a replacement car.
Any advice very much appreciated...
Thanks,
Dave
