Citroen ZX Noise

Jan 05, 2004 3 Replies

Just last night, after coming down the motorway for about 15 miles i have noticed that the Citroen ZX 1.9 Turbo Diesel '95 M reg. Is making a quite loud whirry noise. This gets louder as you raise the revs, but nothing appears to be obviously wrong.....any ideas what it can be.....have done 6k miles in it with no problems over the last 3 months and have changed the camblet and tensioner as well as servicing it 4k ago.

Also can anyone give me some tips on changing the handbrake cable on a '94

1.7TD Vauxhall Cavalier Saloon with rear dum brakes. Never done one yet.....are they a bad job.

As for the cavalier handbrake they dont get much easier, just grease it well on the groove it runs in near the drum(the bend before the drum) as they are prone for rusting and snapping in that place.
