Is this compressor any good for spraying bumpers panels etc on cars on ebay Item number: 130230884472 seems quote cheap ?

5 cfm is enough for the sort of spray jobs you're thinking of, using a gravity feed touch-up gun. Any thing more, like spraying a complete car and it would be struggling. Mike.
Ahhh yeah only need it for the occasional bumper respray so no more than a panel.

With only a 6 litre receiver and 5 CFM (Free air delivery would be lower) I doubt if you could spray a whole bumper? you would run out of pressure before you finished. You might just get away with 5 CFM on a 50ltr receiver? but 6ltr is tiny.
So you reckon something like 6cfm minimum and 10 ltr tank minimum would do a bumper happily ?
I bought this one (7.8cfm/24lt) a year ago and wouldn't want anything less. I am just doing DIY jobs and only a panel at a time.

I think Graham's advice is probably about right? personally I would go for at least a 50ltr receiver but as he has used a small compressor to do the things you want to do, then listen to what he say's.
At least a 25 litre receiver, if not a 50. It sounds big but it's not - a
24lt reciever is about 2 foot long and about 10 inches across. Even a 200lt reciever isn't enormous - about 3.5foot by 18" or so.
I have a brace of Tiger 8/25 compressors which I use for portable jobs and in tandem to run my airfed mask. I have used them for spraying before but they struggled, even in tandem. I have a 200 litre 3HP Sealey that I use in the garage but that's HUGE.
By far the best value in MachineMart's range is the Hunter 60

The extra money you spend on a decent unit will be well worth it - once you have a compressor you discover how useful air tools are and some of them need a lot of air power!

& it's worth knowing if you're close to your neighbours that the belt driven ones are far quieter.
