Certainly. It's a nice big 7-seater estate - turbo diesel[1] with a year's MOT and in good nick for only £250. That'll do me.

[1] Rang up the bloke I bought it from when we got back from Hemel Hempstead to Telford and asked him if the fuel guage worked 'cos it hadn't noticeably moved.

Interest point there!

Here is a short list to compare a 1.4 16v corsa with similar size cars.

Note the corsa has a mid range in the bhp sector but only a clio would beat a corsa . Don't forget the clio does have the highest bhp in small cars.

Vauxhall Corsa 1.4 16V 88bhp 0-60mph in 10.sac Ford Fiesta 1.4 16V 78bhp 0-60mph in 12.sac Ford Fiesta 1.6 16V 98bhp 0-60mph in 10.sac Focus 1.4 Zeta 73bhp 0-60mph in 13.sacs Focus 1.6 Zeta 98bhp 0-60mph in 10.sacs Honda Civic 1.4 88bhp 0-60mph in 11.5secs VW Polo 1.4 75bhp 0-60mph in 12.5secs Peugeot 106 1.4 75bhp 0-60mph in 12.8secs Peugeot 206 1.4 75bhp 0-60mph in 11.8secs Mini (one) 1.6 90bhp 0-60mph in 11.4secs VW Golf 1.4 75bhp 0-60mph in 13.6.8secs Clio 1.4 16V 98bhp 0-60mph in 10.2secs

its a 1.2, alledgedly 13s ish i think. Still beating a 1.4 golf, and thefocus...Which actually surpises me! Mind you, the golf is about as aerodynamic as a wardobe...

Yep, despite its critics, the K series is a very capable engine. Best specific output of any main stream shopping trolley engine - some of the earlier pre-cat ones were higher output. 1.8VVC is 160bhp without any of the on-off cam response of Vtec / VVTI etc....

errrrm hows about the "ariel atom" using the jap spec civic type r engine,

0-60 in errrrr about 3.7 seconds, that quick enough? Must weigh about as much as a box of ARIEL!!!
