Diagnostic Connector

i was wondering where the diagnostic connector was on a 1998 Astra 1.6

8v car. Have recently has a few electronic faults with the car and would like to invest in a fault code reader to diagnose the problems. I have looked in the fusebox and around the steering but cant seem to locate it. Thanks

Our old Astra had the connector down by the handbrake, under a small snap-on cover.

According to Autodata:

Astra-F connector is located in the panel next to the fuse box

Astra-G is Located under the small panel where the handbrake is
