EFI or CFI?

Hi all,

Anyone know how I can tell if I have an EFI or a CFI engine in my 96 escort 1.3 hatch? Looking for exchaust bits and apparently there are major differences between the two and it could be either in that year.

Have had a look myself but can't see anything.

If it's an HCS engine, it will be a CFi. These were fitted to cars between

1991 and 1997. the Endura EFi lumps were fitted between 1994 and 1998, so there's a chance it could be any of the two.

Does the engine per chance say the word "Endura" on the top? If so, it's a multipoint (EFi), if not, I'd put my money on it being a HCS (CFi)

Whelp, says nothing on it so with that and the fact that it has a carb I went for the 'C'Fi option. Seems to have worked out so far!

Argh! No! It hasn't got a carb! Nope nope nope! It will almost certainly be a Weber CFi system, but will not be a carb. Carbs were phased out years before - I think I had one of the last ever cars (if not Escorts) with a carb - a 1992 K reg 1.4 LX. Anyway, the CFi option would work, as that's what it will be :-)
