The OEM stat on my 320d (Behr) is never terribly long lasting and after a few years go soft and I've fitted a few over the years. To try something different I thought I'd buy a Gates one as they seem a big name. One duly arrived in a Gates box with hologram and a Gates part number but was stamped "MotoRad".
So far so whatnot but I've just pulled out a MotoRad stamped stat from the last time I did this. That time I thought I'd try cheaper on the "how hard can it be..." idea and it went bad quite quickly plus it never sealed properly and wept slowly.
Should I assume it's a fake box and bin it/send it back? Or is this just Gates buying stuff in for a non-US market?
And, if not, is it going to be crap again or was I just unlucky?
