Ford orion issue

Hi :D

Anyway got a problem with car. The other day it stalled on me. Then it would not start.

When I first start the car it grumbles on 1k for about 5 seconds before letting me rev it. Then its fine. I took round the block and when I got back to top of my road it cut out again. Luckily I live on a hill so I just rolled back to my house.

Battery seems fine. Before it broke down it was left for about 2 weeks. As I did not need to use it.

The car is a Ford Orion Ghia 1.6i. It has a XR3i engine and has run fine before this.

Thanks for any advice.

is there plenty of petrol (not diesel) in it. As bizarrely enough someone towed an Orion inj to me a little while ago with similar symptoms, it was just out of fuel !!!

next thing then is to check fuel pressure, these pumps frequently die, but before that they are intermittent !!

Fuel pump or relay or power supply or tachometric relay faulty.

Tim..
