MOT Test - Obligatory llights on dashboard

Hi MOT due Monday and just checked lights for proper operation. Dashboard shows sidelights on, main beam on dip but when I put on main beam there is no indication that it is operation.

The dipped light indicator does go out but normally a main beam light comes on. Is this a "fail" on the MOT? The lights themselves do change from dip to main beam and vice versa.

you don't need a main beam indicator light for the mot.

sid ( snipped-for-privacy@sid.com) gurgled happily, sounding much like they were saying :

No.

It doesn't mention them, because they aren't testable.

The only compulsory dash warning lights are for rear fog (if fitted - if the car's pre-1980, it doesn't have to be) and the indicators must have either audible or visible warning.

As if you didn't need another reply, I too can confirm that a full beam 'tell-tale' lamp is NOT required for the MOT test.
