Hi all

1400 deisel injector leak. Been back to fords twice but now out of warranty any special tools required or is it just a injector out and back in job? I guess you can only get the seals from ford as well? Job you can do at home or should I book it in? Thanx Trev

If it is a TDCi, you've no choice other than to have it done at a Ford dealership as each injector is coded and the ECU has to be programmed with the code.

I'm guessing you're meaning that it's leaking gas out the combustion chamber?

If it is, you may need a new injector to properly cure it. Apart from that, it's not too difficult a job.

1.4 tdci injectors aren't coded (certainly the earlier ones aren't, but that may of changed on the newer ones)

Hi, if its leaking from the combustion chamber have you changed the copper sealing washer under the injector. This will almost certainly cure the leak, if the injector needs replacing you need to get the numbers wrote on the injectors and write them down and most independent garages can now reprogramme injectors
