Hamster fund for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance

The YAA airlifted Richard Hammond to hospital after his Top Gear crash and this donations page has been set up to help fund the £3600 a day they need to keep the helicopter in the air.

In 24 hours it's raised nearly £50,000

Go on, log on and give them a tenner. You know you want to.

Justgiving.com who take their own slice. Go direct (and make a gift aid declartion) and the charity gets the whole lot.

A whole 5%, which is probably not far off what the charity gets charged on card transactions anyway.

All depends on the volume of transactions they put through.

I suspect they won't have the kind of volumes required to get rates down to 2%.

Don't know what the current cheque charges are for 'business' customers.

But the cost of having staff processing cheques will certainly be significant.
