How many bhp would you regard it as necessary for a hatch to be considered a hot hatch? And what about warm and lukewarm?

It is all relative. The goal posts are moving.
1980s: 100bhp. 1990s: 150bhp 2000s: 200bhp 2010s: 300bhp
And power-weight is more meaningful. Someone here once posted that
Chris Bartram gurgled happily, sounding much like they were saying:
*ding*205GTi 1.9 - 130bhp, 900kg. Put the BX/405/ZX 16v head on, for another
30bhp.Focus RS - 300bhp, 1500kg.
And three guesses which'll be more fun to drive...
