Is This Too Much Oil ?

If the owner can think straight while enveloped in blue smoke! Most people just get the hell away from the car.

The message from Zog The Undeniable contains these words:

Doesn't happen with petrol engines anyway. Even with loads of oil entering as fuel a petrol engine will be restricted by the throttle limiting the air supply.

Diesels, on the other hand, have essentially an open inlet tract, so an unlimited supply of fuel means unlimited revs - since the governor can only control the official fuel supply not the sucked-in oil.

Dunno what happens now that EGR is common and some diesels are indeed throttled at low pedal positions.
