Land Rover sluggish starting when cold

I've already fitted a cut-off switch through the seat box, so connecting the battery to it via a 6" lead would be a minute's work. Even if I have to weld in a shelf for the battery, I can't see it taking much longer than routing in a second cable. And it'll keep things a lot simpler. It also means I can flog the military fuel tank which make 60 quid or so on eBay.

Fair enough :-) I'd check the volt drop across the cutoff switch connections though.

Good point. Actually, I only fitted it to work as a junction box and save having too many hefty cables stripping the threads of the starter solenoid.

Oooh - yeah it could be that. Or it's crystalising in the fuel system somewhere.

Nah, it was the battery cables being too long. I moved the battery and it's now starting reasonably well. Which isn't to say it doesn't have umpteen other faults, of course...
