There are a few ex police T5 volvos for sale on autotrader. as therefrequently is. Usually 98/99 S and T regs. Mileages 101,000 , 109,000etc That has to be bollocks surely? These cars often come up for saleand have these kinds of mileages. Police traffic cars bound to do lotmore mleage than that. Can anybody confirm this? And the peopleselling them the prices, half what they ask would be more realistic.Most of them seem to have same sort of mileages that privately ownednon police T5s, That cant be right can it?I suppose though a bit silly to clock a police car if uponinvestigation with the police records the car had a higher mileagethan it has now. But then again I suppose a lot of crooks arent thatbright or dont care.

Many rental car groups just keep the absolute basics in maintenance ,so by sale time which is about the time they think costs are going to occur ,they sell them off .I don't know about police cars but I figure they too would sell off around the time things need fixing over and above basics.When I brought my first new Taxi some years ago ,it had a label" taxi police pack ".I wont even bother to tell you how long the back shock absorbers and the front shocks went well as did the discs .The air filter had a foam insert which meant at @40 k the filter looked like new but the suspension needed new ball joints ,due to a lack of grease nipples and some heater connections which were super light failed ,with the replacements 3 times the weight and cheap .I am sure the motors on police cars are" fiddled" to go better by the police garage as well as the basic car being built with higher output alternator, battery ,lights, hard pads and better to say better regular oil changes as well .Often an...

It has a roundel on it no matter where it's made. I think that little piece of trim costs $5-10,000.

These MkII's were built long before Ford got involved. Possibly before BMW even IIRC.

Nope, the current Rangey petrol engine is the Jaguar V8. Older current shape ones had the BMW 4.4 in.

Diesels are still the BMW one at the moment though I think
