hi, i have a 1.6 16v mondeo, 1996 with a knackered headgasket. im gunna break it but am wondering if the transmission is of ib5 or mtx75. i hear the mtx75 is quite a desirable spare as its the same used in things like the st200, rs2000 and mkv xr3is.

is there any great demand for the secondary type of box?

It is the mtx75 g/box in the mondeo, they do use them in the st's but there uprated and have differant gear ratios so would be no good, It would only be any use to someone wanting one for a 1600 poss 1800 but thats about it.
