I have a M plate 1,8 Mondeo I get loss of oil over two weeks it seems to be coming out of the breather pipe on the rocker cover in to the air filter chamber I have had the breather pipes cleaned but still get the loss it does not burn it and I get no blue smoke ether on driving,

can any body help me.

Rings gone steve the grease

Thanks Steve, But Why Don't i Get Blue Smoke When Driving DAVE,

It's possible to get piston blow by which pressurises the crankcase without the oil going up past the rings into the combustion chamber.

Are you absolutely certain you've cleaned and checked *all* the breathers both 'in and out' ? There could, for example be some small passage within the manifold etc that's still blocked.

You could also try filling the bores with redex etc overnight in the hope it's stuck rings - but I wouldn't hold my breath over it working.

into the combustion chamber, whilst having fubar compression rings so that the combustion pressure leaks into the crankcase and blows the oil out into the breather. Sorry . steve the grease
