Oil change on Renault Clio Mk2

Oct 13, 2006 3 Replies

Bit new here but this is doing my head in!

I've got a Clio (MK2) 1.5dci (53 reg) i've got the oil filter and new oil to change it, but I can't find the right tool to open the oil sump, is there a specific tool you need from the dealer or something? I've tried one of those universal tool things but no such luck, and my oil is tar black and desparately needs doing!

Hope someone can help!!!

Many thanks!!!

8mm square key IIRC. I got one from the bargain bin in Halfords when I owned a Renault, a decent motor factor will know what you mean if you say "8mm square sump plug tool for a Renault Clio".

Or online:

Though as a caveat, the dimensions may have changed so stick some blu-tack in the hole and measure it before you buy anything.

Part no. 38325 amuses me :)
