Oil Changes At Rapid Fit .

I need to change oil and filter on my Mondeo .last time I did it myself and bought the oil at Halfords ( Ford Spec Oil) .I think it cost about £17 .

I read a message on here suggesting the OP go to Ford Rapid Fit and buy the oil there or even better get them to do it at around the same price .

Would I be right in thinking that if you get them to do the oil change they use bulk oil so you don't have any left over to use in future topups if necessary( which you will have if you buy a 5 litre jug)

Stuart .

Do you seriously expect them to give you a "doggy bottle"? Have you ever known it happen elsewhere? No of course not.

Did I suggest that .If you can't answer a question civily then don't answer at all

It answered your question though. If you can't treat posts you deem to be uncivil with the contempt that they deserve and ignore them then perhaps you should take a flying f*ck of a big cliff with nasty jaggy rocks at the bottom.

Seems like this newsgroup is going the way of so many .It used to be a friendly and civil place .

Well if you didn't suggest it why did you ask the question? If you had asked about the quality of their oil or whether it was worthwhile getting them to do the oil change then you would have got a civil reply. But if you ask a question to which the answer is bleeding obvious then what do you expect.

I certainly have known it happen elsewhere...

Yup. I'd go along with this.

Yes, essentially yes. Some places provide you with a litre in an oil container as a top up but it's becoming less and less common these days.

I've been reading it for 7 years or so. I don't think it's got notably worse.

It is still a nice place. But it's a grown up place. And it's *exactly* like Usenet has *always* been (since 1990 at least) with some people being helpful, some trolling, some just causing hassle, others just passing the time.

The only change is that swearing has become more common in everyday life (remember the fuss only 10 years ago when somebody said 'f*ck' on TV?) and that has been mirrored on here.

Deal with it. Or go lock yourself away.

Really? I sit corrected then. Although Citroen never did that for me nor Daewoo.

The big fuss was a great deal earlier than that when Bernard Levin used it on That Was The Week That Was, or one of its successors, round about '70.
