Hi,
Since monday, I have problem to start my vectra. It's a 2.0 DTI (74 kW) My battery is fully charged so the starter gets it's power and is turning as should.
My feeling is that the engine does not get enough diesel. We turning the key and activating the starter, a lot of smoke starts to come out of the exhaustpipe (white). It can take a minute or more to get the engine running. Most of the time, it happens when the engine hasn't run for a day. I must say it can happen when it hasn't run for 3 hours too, but then I can start it more quickly. This morning, he started like a charm, no problem at all. This evening, after a working day of 9 hours, I had to try more than a minute (continiously keeping the key turned). A few months ago, I had the same problem when the car was on a slope (nose higher than tail). I've replaced the dieselfilter a while ago. But now, I have this problem again, but worse. Is my diesel leaking back into the tank?
Thanks for any suggestions
