Radio loom wring for Peugeot 405 2nd build

My radio went dead a few weeks ago Its a clarion radio/cassette with rds etc. bog standard ordinary radio but I do like the remote stalk and the radio is all I need.

It appears that the radio is ok as I purchased a replacement radio (same model) from ebay. Still no sound. Radio operates from remote stalk and also directly, with radio channels displayed.

Does anyone know if this is a connector in the dash somewhere that takes the speaker cables to the various locations. That is to say - speaker connector to radio - on to an interconnector in the dash to the door speakers and tweater in the dash. AFAIK, the front speakers and the tweaters are wired up together, hence only 8 wires in the speaker connector.

Only other option is that the direct speaker connection to the radio has failed in some way.

Can anyone help

TIA

If it's the standard fit, then the wires should be going directly to the speakers. It;s easy to check the speakers. Get a normal AA battery and two bits of wire into each of the speaker wires. Just hold one wire onto the neg of the AA battery and tip the other onto the Pos, (don't hold it on) If the speaker is ok, you'll hear a clicking sound.
