I've just noticed something odd about one of the headlights on my

To be honest a new headlight is needed. I remember 20+ years ago I had a Vauxhall viva and the headlights came apart to fit new water seals, so I painted the insides, it didn't look good but it did the job.

Have you used non-standard bulbs? Some damage plastic reflectors with excessive UV.

Highly likely - the "new shape" 306 at least has polycarbonate headlight lenses, and the reflector is definitely plastic as well
