I'm going to look at a mates car for which a dealer offered him £800 PX

It is always better to keep friendship and business separate but if you're not going to hold your friend accountable if the car breaks in a month then go ahead.

Get a quote for the big service on these cars - the one where they change the cambelt. Check this against the mileage of the car, and also see when/if the camblet was last changed.
