Rear Hub Bearing - Should There Be Two Pieces?

I have spent the afternoon replacing the brake shoes on the rear of my Peugeot 106.

In the process of removing one of the drums, I seem to have pulled the oil seal and taper bearing race out of the drum. So with the drum off the car, and looking from the outside of the drum, the circlip and bearing sleeve are still firmly located within the drum. But, the oil seal and taper race have been left on the stub axle.

Can I just push the taper race and oil seal back into the drum and reassemble? Or do I need to replace the whole bearing assembly?

Grateful for some advice please.

Sounds like you should be able to just fit it back into place. There should be some way to tighten things up (often a castle-like nut with a locking pin), but take care not to tighten things too much otherwise you will need a new bearing in a couple of months. Tighten up until the nut wont turn anymore, then loosen it one notch on the castle-like nut before putting the pin in.

Generally speaking, as long as it goes back in exactly how it came out, all will be ok. Bearings are pretty sturdy things. Unless it is worn out or has been badly fitted, there is no reason to replace it.
