Renault Espace dashboard

The electronic dashboard on my Espace (registered in Jan 2000) ha

started to play up by not coming on at first and then eventuall working. Surprise surprise the local dealer wants to charge £800+ fo a new one. I have found a firm down in Kent will repair it for £15 and give a short warranty. My question to the forum is this. How eas would it be to dismatle part of the dashboard to get at the unit. suspect it will be a straightforward disconnection once I get access t it. But don't know where to start in terms of pulling the dash apart. It looks like it might pull apart as there are no obvious fixings and am tempted to give it a yank but prudence is getting the better of me a the moment. Any advice from anyone? One option is to get a local ca electrical firm to take it out for me but wanted to check if it wa straightforward before I went down that route

Hi Peter,

Yes it is BBA in Kent and I also received a quote from Autotek in Pool who offer a 24hr turnaround but cannot quote a price until they hav seen the unit. I have also been offered a second hand replacement uni for aboout £35 but then I have the problem of the mileometer bein wrong. Probably will go with BBA having tried your suggestion of th speakers, but not till after Easter
