My car is very very old with lots of rust. In my opion it's worth nothing. But the other day a young lad offered me £700 for it. He said that him and a few others wanted my model of car to play and experiment on.
I don't want to be nasty and take there money knowing that it's more than it's worth. What should I do?

Is it the 1.8 CVH or 1.8 Zetec (16 valve) ? If it's the Zetec engined version then it might be worth a bit more, I wouldn't have said anywhere near that, especially if it's pretty rusty, so I'd take the money. Just make sure you write out a receipt that you both sign, stating the car was sold as seen for spares or repairs, and stating the exact time and date of the sale. Get him to fill in the log book and send it off straight away, and keep your copy of the receipt (signed by both of you) safe in case of parking/speeding tickets incurred by the new owner.

by "young lad" what do you mean - too young to drive - if so don't sell it to 'em!?
What do they mean by play with - tart up and sell to an unsuspecting buyer, or are they genuine?
if the car has a full ticket and maybe tax, and is roadworthy then fair enough, but if it's that bad then selling as other than spares or repair is morally - and probably legally - a bit dubious.
Above all if you are unhappy with the prospect of selling under these circumstances and are a bit worried about the possible consequences - and it sounds as if you are - then don't. Simple really.
Why not? I know plenty of people who had cars before they were 17 and stormed around their own land in them. Absolutely nothing wrong with that.
They're not very good at it if they want to pay £700 :).
If you feel bad about taking his money sell if for what you think it's worth, or let him have it for what the scrappy would give you. IME sometimes you have to pay the scrappy to take it off your hands...
Got some alloy wheel bolts off one ot those in a scrap yard this week. About the only thing the owner had considered worth keeping was the locking wheel bolts, it had 4 steel wheel bolts on it, one on each wheel, so it's now sat there with only one bolt on each wheel.
