Seat 2001 1.4 front side lamp replacement?

Seat 2001 1.4 front side lamp replacement?

I must be getting old! The simplest things, these days! Someone pointed out to me that my front side light was out, I 'thanked' them and thought "easy job I'll do that in no more than 15 minutes! I've done this a thousand times in the past" I haven't to date replaced any bulbs on this car, so I was disappointed to see how fiddly this appears to be. I started by referencing the 'Owners book' only to be informed that you have to remove two screws and take the whole light assemble out? Cynically I say that "this is all done to put you off and so take it to the garage and accept their charge", 'but' for a small bulb replacement? I tried 'book' approach, but it now looks suspiciously like I have to remove a number of front bits to remove this light unit, to remove this ridiculous bulb. Haynes nearest equivalent to my car is a VW Golf & Bora 01 to 03, although the engine/mechanics are similar, the light unit assemble isn't quite the same, but it suggests that the front side light can be just pulled out of the back of the unit, no need to dismantle anything. As I've already broken one of the plastic light unit retaining lugs :~( I've no wish to continue pulling at plastic things. Any of you geniuses here know whether I can just pull this bulb/bulb holder simply out, from the back of the unit or not? Your thoughts, as always, very much appreciated, Michael.

Seasonal greetings, I?ve got it done with a bit of help from old Percy (perseverance), the side bulb and holder just pulls out. Very easy really, just reluctant, if only the customer?s manual said so, instead of the removal of the whole light unit assembly, thanks to all, Michael.
