Sticking locking mechanism - VX Omega - A cure at last :)

Dear all,

Just thought I would mention this, in case anybody else has the same problem ? since it?s a ?Known problem? ! according to the Vauxhall Dealer ? Who don?t have a ?Known Solution thought? when I asked !!, that a can of Silicone Lubricant (bought from Halfrauds :( ) applied liberally to the inside of the door handle mechanism from the back (with door panel / trim removed) has cured the constant sticking mechanism. Regular trips to VX dealer failed to give results (un-surprisingly), so I went mad at the weekend with the Silicone Lubricant spray on anything that moved inside the door.

Works a dream, better then its ever been and had the car from new !!

Happy lubricating :)

Andy.

A similar remedy was released as a technical bulletin a fair while ago from Vauxhall.. Obviously the dealer didn't go back through the records or look on TIS2000 for it.

Anthony,

Are these technical bulletins available to the public to search through ? This would have saved me years of frustration and swearing at the bleedin door mechanism !!

If they are available, can I access then from the Web ? What is TIS2000 ?

Thanks,

Andy.

Andy,

TIS (Technical Information System) 2000 software is supplied to Vauxhall/Opel dealers. It contains maintenance instructions, technical remedies and update software for engine ECU's. It is only available to dealers, although there are pirated versions available from ebay. Search for Vauxhall TIS. Be warned that some sellers are trying to sell versions of the software from 1997, so the information on it is hardly up-to-date!
