What's wrong with using universal formats?

Much as I hate to admit it, as I prefer to use MPEG compression myself, Windows Media is probably the best compromise for serving up web clips (quality vs size) - you can't get the same image quality for a comparable size from any other format I've tried.

I prefer not to have to bother with munged addresses and paying for virus protection so don't use a PC. Perhaps you'd tell me what's so wonderful about Windows Media that other universal formats can't do?

actually, if you've already downloaded it you can rename your copy avi and it should play.

If I wanted to upgrade, I would. However, I'm a tight bastard.

In the past, I've actually converted Quicktime to mpg, so I don't have to use Quicktime Player.

I haven't yet tried - but am told that it works - setting the system date to a decade in the future and then when it bothers you click "Later" then setting it back again. Doesn't fix it forever but boots it into touch.
