These here car audio jobs with an MP3 slot...

Is it easy to navigate the music on your USB memory stick or do the folders all go to bollocks and it just shows a huge list of tracks, like some MP3 players do?

On mine (an old Kenwood) you can work it with either the head unit in the vehicle or from the MP3 player. It navigates folders/songs/playlists as 'normal'

I mostly just use an ipod shuffle with about 250 songs on and let it run in shuffle mode so it changes regularly .. ;)

The one my son fitted (Sony, not my choice) has a navigation button so that you can navigate via the rotary knob. It recognises all the folders and they all get listed in the display. Works a treat.

I never bother with CDs in the car any more. I've looked for head units with USB but no CD, but all I can find are "el cheapo" brands - don't understand that, as there must be some advantages to not having to fit a CD deck.

"Mungo \"Two Sheds\" Toadfoot" gurgled happily, sounding much like they were saying:

On my Pioneer, you just nudge the control up/down to go up/down the folders (only shown by number, but you can show artist/album name, which is how I tend to have 'em organised) and left/right to go to next/ previous track within a folder.

Thanks chaps.
