vauxhall ecu? running on windows?

Aug 09, 2006 8 Replies

i have been reading these groups for some time now, and am starting to wonder if a lot of cars ecu`s are using mocrosoft windows, it just seem strange on the amount of errors that some ecu`s seem to have.

i wonder if the main way to repair a comp error is to close all of the car windows and restart the car.

sorry about this post but i could not resist it.

bongo rule (- snipped-for-privacy@hotmail.co.uk_) gurgled happily, sounding much like they were saying :

You laugh... but BMW's iDrive is based around Windows, as are several of the other similar systems...

As is the management system on many new Virgin Trains (and others) new trains...

Yes drivers/traincrew do have to frequently reset the system

I assume you mean some management system software which runs under windows. Because windows by itself is going to run sod all!!

Ewwwww....!

So, to reboot, you really do have to exit via the front passenger door and re-enter via the hatchback.....?
